Spotlight on Prince Andrew Chapter
The members of Prince Andrew Chapter welcome ladies of British or Commonwealth heritage, or who have partners of the same heritage, to join our chapter. Our 15 members live in Bradbury, Claremont, Covina, Monrovia, Upland and the East San Gabriel Valley.
We meet on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 2:00pm in members’ homes and have time to socialize after our meetings. Our members have developed some great friendships through the years while working for ‘The Cause’.
Our main fundraisers are the ‘Annual Salad Luncheon’ and our booth at the June Faire, which takes place on the lawns of The Western British Home in Sierra Madre. We donate 80% of our fundraising proceeds to the British Home and 20% to our local charity, which is Serenity House, a foster facility in Covina. We also donate baby clothes and Christmas gifts during the holiday season.
We also host and arrange the November 11th Remembrance Day event at Holy Trinity Church in West Covina; an event that is well attended by many DBE members from other chapters and seems to be growing each year.
Our two ‘special friends’ at the British Home look forward to our members’ visits and cards and presents for special occasions.
Our members enjoy attending many special DBE events during the year and networking with members from our sister DBE Chapters.
